15 Podcasts for the Inspired Artist

We know that as an artist when you get in your studio and you turn on your favorite song then there’s no stopping you. You will create a visual masterpiece! But sometimes it may take just a little longer for you to get into that rhythm and mindset that lets you express yourself. We’ve all experienced the frustrations of a creative block at some point in time, whether it’s for 10 minutes or a few weeks.

Luckily there are quite a few things to help get your inspiration back. Keep in mind that everyone is unique and what works or you might not work for someone else, so why not try all the possible solutions until you find one that works for you. For example, instead of turning on some music, why not dive into a podcast for some new perspective?

There are so many great podcasts out there, for both beginners or experts. Each of those can bring you tons of inspiration and the latest trends. There are so many podcasts that will help inspire or motivate you, all you need to do is find the right one.

The Savvy Painter

With the Savvy Painter, it’s just like having a professional artist as the mentor you never had right by your side, there to guide you and teach you the tricks of the trade that they have learned. Host Antrese Wood interviews artists such as painters, art ambassadors, and illustrators. We’ve all heard the myth of “the starving artist”. Well, Cory Huff, the host of The Abundant Artist, has committed himself to dispel that myth. This is a great podcast with excellent content. Cory interviews successful artists who provide valuable advice on how to manage the business part of your life. Check out this podcast to learn key art marketing and selling tips.

Bad at Sports brings you an inside look into the life of a working artist. They have already shared stories of anything from the residency programs, sculpture gardens, and artist collectives. This podcast is longer than other art podcasts but they have a lot of information to share with their listeners and it is worth your time, each episode is around 40 minutes long.
