Founder’s Corner #27 Personal Growth: The “Start Stop Continue” Framework

We’re all about personal growth and personal development here at The Founder’s Corner! But it can be tough to know where to start. All kinds of resources are telling you to “do this” or “stop doing that” and it can be hard to know what you need to do to move forward. So today, I want to share what I use whenever I’m at a crossroads. It’s my Start Stop Continue Framework, and it’s never failed to get me moving in the right direction. And I can’t wait to share it with you today.

But first…

The Founder’s Corner posts are based on previous segments from our weekly newsletter. So if you want this type of content first, check out the link at the end of this post!

Now, let’s dive into today’s post!

We’re into March, so it’s time for a self check-in!

Today, let’s talk about a simple yet powerful framework that can revolutionize your podcasting journey and boost your personal growth: I call it my Start Stop Continue framework.

Just as every episode offers a chance to engage, entertain, and educate, the start of a new month invites us to assess our podcasting journey with a unique opportunity of reflection and refinement.

The Start Stop Continue framework offers a simple yet profound way to assess our actions, habits, and goals.

So let’s dive into how this approach can elevate your podcasting game and help you leap (it is a Leap Year after all!) forward with these three simple questions.

Strategy for Personal Growth: The Start Stop Continue Framework

1. What Can You Start Doing?

Launching a podcast is just the beginning. Now that you are a few months into the new year, it’s time to consider what new elements or strategies you can introduce to take your show to the next level!

Are there new topics you’ve been itching to explore? Guests you’ve been wanting to invite on? Or formats you’ve been eager to experiment with?

Embrace the spirit of innovation and start incorporating these ideas into your repertoire as a podcaster.

Some other ways include:

  • Incorporating listener feedback.
  • Introducing storytelling segments.
  • Diversifying your content.

Starting something new can breathe fresh life into your podcast and give you that boost into the new season!

2. What Should You Stop Doing?

We’ve all been there—stuck in the rut of routine, doing things the same old way just because it’s comfortable. But growth requires breaking free from stagnation.

Take a good, hard look at your podcasting practices and identify what’s holding you back.

Whether it’s outdated formats, ineffective promotional strategies, or habits that no longer serve your goals, it’s time to bid them adieu. By letting go of what no longer serves you, you create space for fresh ideas and opportunities to flourish.

3. What Can You Continue Doing?

Now, let’s celebrate the wins! Here’s the last step in my Start Stop Continue framework. Reflect on the aspects of your podcast that have resonated with your audience and contributed to your success.

Whether it’s your engaging storytelling, authentic connection with your listeners, or consistent delivery of quality content, these are the pillars of your podcasting journey.

Consistency and authenticity are your allies in sustaining long-term success in the dynamic world of podcasting. Keep nurturing these strengths, staying true to your unique voice and vision!

Personal Growth is a Go!

So, as you gear up for another month of recording, editing, and sharing your stories with the world, take a moment to check in with yourself using the Start Stop Continue framework.

Embrace the thrill of innovation, break free from stagnant routines, and celebrate the tried-and-true elements that make your podcast shine!
